As of today, Catapult Kid is a graduate, not a high school graduate but a National Guard Youth Challenge Academy graduate with a GED in hand. He won an award for putting in more than 180 hours of community service, the most in his platoon. Apparently he volunteered for everything - guarding the platoon flag all night, checking IDs at the gate, picking up trash in the woods, building structural elements of houses to be sent to New Orleans. I’m misty-eyed proud of him.
